Abolish

 

Part of speech/type of word: Abolish is a verb

Meaning: To end something, often an organisation, law or practice (a practice is something done alot by  people).

Examples:

  1. The government may abolish the death penalty for criminals.
  2. Britain abolished military service for young men in the 1950s.

The noun of abolish is ‘abolition’.
